Insurance & Payment

I accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO. After a session, I will bill your insurance for their portion of the bill. You will be responsible for paying your deductible and/or co-payment at each session by cash, personal check or credit card.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO: I am a preferred provider for Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO. You are responsible for the deductible or co-payment and I will bill your insurance carrier for their share of your psychotherapy bill. You may or may not have an annual limit on the number of psychotherapy sessions. Note that if you have Blue Cross Blue Shield HMO, I am considered out-of-network, and it is unlikely that they will pay any of your mental health fee.

Out-of-Network: Many other PPOs will cover the majority of the cost of psychotherapy. However, I would be considered an “out-of-network” provider. You can call your PPO and check on the benefits (see list of questions). When I am out-of-network, I ask that you please pay for your sessions on a weekly basis. If it is convenient, feel free to pay by credit card. At the end of every month, I can give you a statement that you can send in to your insurance company in order to get reimbursed.

I encourage you to contact your insurance company prior to our initial session to see what your copayment is and to see if there is an annual limit on the number of psychotherapy sessions your insurance company provides. Other Payment Options

Fee-for-Service: My out-of-pocket fee is $190 for the initial consult session (50 -60 minutes) and $150 for individual psychotherapy sessions (45 minutes) . I accept cash, check and credit cards.
